It has been quite a year for Electrolight.
The year started with the establishment of a brand new studio in San Francisco led by Brazilifornian lighting legend Claudio Ramos. Claudio has hit the ground running and has not only established a great team with Sam Davey and Lu Huang, the studio is doing some very exciting projects! More to come on this next year…
Meanwhile in Australia things go from strength to strength. Even by Australia’s standards, this year’s haul of awards is impressive:
IALD International Lighting Design Award of Merit – Sake, Double Bay
IESANZ International Lighting Design Award of Excellence 2016 – Wollongong Central West Keira, Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Melbourne,
IESANZ Lighting Design Award of Excellence – The Farm Residence, Gerroa
IESANZ Lighting Design Award of Commendation – El Camino Cantina in Sydney, Event Head Office in Sydney, Dinner By Heston in Melbourne.
With this latest IALD award–the world’s most prestigious lighting awards program–Electrolight has now won more IALD awards in the past 5 years than any other firm in the world.
We have completed a series of impressive projects in 2016. Some highlights include Crown Towers and Elizabeth Quay, both in Perth, Westfield Warringah Mall in NSW, Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast and the QT Hotel and Eastland Retail Centre, both in Melbourne.
Here in London we continue to consolidate our position in the UK lighting design profession. While confidentiality considerations prevent us from discussing our ongoing project work, we have been involved in some really interesting collaborations such as the Sensorium project as part of London Design Week (with Hassell) and the RIBA Windows project for Kiehl’s with Piercy and Co. Not only that we have relocated the Studio to Here East, London’s new home for making, creativity and all things tech. It’s very cool.
We look forward to rich collaborations both with our clients and architects and across our own international studios.
To all who have worked with us, hired us and believed in us, we thank you and wish you all the best for the holiday season.
