The Dining Terrace provides a selection of Restaurant dining options and is sheltered by a three dimensional diamond ceiling in a dark bronze, reflective finish. This feature ceiling treatment ultimately became the backbone for the lighting design, as it provided a framework for which the lighting needed to work.
A lighting strategy was conceived that drew attention to the ceiling by positioning a custom brass and glass luminaire within every second diamond grid, throughout the Mezzanine. These glowing spheres of glass and brass illuminate the illustrious form and materially of the ceiling grid, creating a layer of interest and sparkle and ultimately resulting in a focal point within the mezzanine.
This strategy also allowed the functional illumination in the form of can downlights to be concealed from view within the un-illuminated diamond grid portions. A combination of other lighting techniques such as grazing walls to reveal texture, using custom light elements to define entries and perimeter illumination complete the design
