Wynyard Quarter

Electrolight was engaged to design the lighting to the North Wharf and Silo Park areas within the precinct. The lighting design supports the aspiration for the development to create a range of public open spaces that provide a variety of experiences. The lighting concept comprises two distinct layers of light; a general layer which falls from above revealing and illuminating larger areas and a detailed layer which operates at a lower and more intimate level designed to reveal texture and materials. Steel, concrete, foliage, water and stone are lit to tell the story of the site and encourage visitor engagement with both the history and story of the site.
