Elizabeth Quay has been described as one of the most significant things to happen in Perth in the last 100 years (according to Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi).
And now it is open!
Electrolight has been intimately involved with this project since 2012 and has designed the lighting to all public outdoor spaces, art features and the pedestrian bridge. The project features a stunning inlet connected by 1.5km of continuous boardwalks and promenades and delivers great public spaces, a new hotel and short stay contemporary accommodation.
Our collaboration with ARM Architecture (the architects for the site masterplan and promenades) was, as always, extremely stimulating. They demanded something out of the ordinary and we responded by giving them a feature-rich scheme with custom lighting poles and fixtures that is integrated fully into their work. Ahead of its time, the precinct is exclusively lit with LED lighting giving the City of Perth an installation which is energy efficient, requires minimal maintenance and looks fabulous!
And to cap it all there is a sumptuous bridge by Cox Architects. We are especially pleased with how this particular element turned out as this is a legacy of the late Toby Jalleh who devoted his immense creativity and diligence into getting the details right.
These projects don’t come around too often; we are very grateful for the opportunity to have played our small part.
