The Playhouse, Geelong

Electrolight’s work at The Playhouse, the newly refurbished performing arts centre in Geelong, features in the January 2011 edition of Mondo Arc.

We’re proud to see our work recognised in such a prominent industry journal and help promote the Australian lighting industry to an international audience.

For audiences in Geelong, we believe we’ve provided the first auditorium of this size in Australia to be lit exclusively with LEDs.

The new LED house lighting has significant energy savings, compared to the previous halogen lighting, as well as dramatically reducing maintenance demands for theatre staff – they used to change several halogen lamps a week!

All in all an impressive outcome, with theatre staff, architect and Arts Victoria all very happy with the result.
