LightCycle: The Dean Phillips Prize - Update

You might recall that one of the prizes in the 2011 LightCycle competition was the Dean Phillips Prize. The winner of the prize was given the opportunity for their light fixture to be put into production by top Australian lighting manufacturer Dean Phillips.

The winner of the prize was Nick Stephenson (who also won LightCycle outright in 2007).  Since the competition, Dean and Nick have been collaborating, working together to figure out how to reproduce such a delicate and exquisite piece for inclusion in the 2012 Dean Phillips rage of products.  Dean sent through the below photos showing Nick and himself working on the project which involved a trip to visit a specialist workshop in country Victoria. We are not sure what the dog had to do with it but it looks like they were all having fun.  Anyway, keep your eyes peeled for the finished product to hit the Dean Phillips range later this year.
