Our community lighting projects are part of the DNA of Electrolight. So what can you expect to see from us this year?

We’ve been putting our heads together internally and trying to dream up some cool projects.  Here’s where we got to…

Light in Winter Festival – for the fourth consecutive year we will be partnering with Fed Square to do something for Light in Winter. Can’t release full details yet but it might be something along the lines of inviting the community at large (yes, you) to create some light graffiti via a gobo/projector combo at selected locations around the square. Think of it like stencil graffiti in the Melbourne laneways but with light.

Vivid – our Sydney studio is collaborating with Grimshaw Architects to create an installation for this year’s Vivid Festival, voted one of the world’s top ten festivals of light and ideas.

LightCycle – Our biennial lighting design competition will be beck in 2013 with a new and improved format, a very cool base product and for the first time it will happen in Sydney as well as Melbourne.

And to cap it off, we’re not ruling out getting involved with another Objective:Light, we’ll be giving talks and writing stuff as usual
