In the gallery space the ceiling tracks were installed neither parallel to the walls nor horizontal. This created a significant challenge to achieve even wall washing and spot lighting to the paintings. Up-lighting to above skylights adds to the volume of the space and contributes to the external view of building when approaching from upper car park.
The sculpture courtyard was illuminated with light fixtures installed in the nearby trees thus obviating the need for any unsightly poles. An interesting, gently dynamic array of shadows was created and glowing spheres were added to the lawn to complement Inge King’s sculpture, Rings of Saturn.
