I have been trialling a revolutionary new way of controlling lights and hence saving energy. It’s called switching off the lights when you don’t need them.
Here’s how it works: when you go out of a room you simply switch off the light. This generates an instant energy saving of 100%. When you re-enter the room just flick the switch and you are back to original brilliance. No need to stress about exorbitant energy costs and carbon tax.
Not only are you saving power the whole time your room is unoccupied, you are also prolonging the life of your lamps. I have been trialling this system at home and am happy to report a 32% saving on lighting energy costs and I expect a commensurate extension of time till I need to go to the hardware store to replace my lamps when they fail (which, of course, I won’t be able to do because they stopped selling the ones I like).
Please note that this method will not necessarily work with teenagers.
