Last night saw the unveiling of a series of shelters designed by some of Australia’s leading architects at Federation Square. It was a design competition and exhibition where the brief was to design – and fabricate – an emergency shelter which could be dispatched and constructed in an area affected by natural disaster.
We were honoured to be invited by Cox Architecture to help make theirs look beautiful for the exhibition – the opening was at night after all.
With generous assistance from Inlite we intended to illuminate both shelters with coloured LED lights. We went to site, trialled and tweaked the night before but then on the evening of the event we couldn’t get one set of fittings to work. Fortunately we found a spare fluoro and fired it up and were actually very pleased with how it looked – a nice counter-point to the LED-lit shelter! Thanks to Rosana for putting in the time beforehand and on site, generally making everything good.
