Working together with Woods Baggot and Mirvac Design, Electrolight delivered a highly customised design outcome that both celebrates the unique history and character of the site and provides modern and refined solutions to lighting.
The centrepiece within the design stands a refurbished tram, which provides seating for the restaurant at entrance. Electrolight worked closely with local manufacturers in the fabrication of custom light fittings, for general as well as feature lighting, to capture the unique aesthetic required for the project.
The Rozelle Tramway Depot was always busy when it was built back in 1904, becoming an important interchange where people met and socialized on their way around the city. While it has a different purpose today, more than a century on and a dramatic renovation later, Tramsheds still plays a pivotal role in community gatherings and remains a place to celebrate Sydney’s architectural history.
