Westfield Sydney City

Working alongside Japanese interior design studio Wonderwall and Westfield Design and Construction we designed a lighting scheme which, we believe, provides a perfect companion to the internal architecture. Our scope (all of which is submitted for judging) is from Retail Level 1 to Retail Level 4. The ‘pitch’ of each floor is subtly different from one floor to the next and the interior design and lighting schemes support the particular pitch for each particular floor. For example in the basement, the retailers are more ‘streetware’ orientated. Accordingly, lighting levels are low, moody. This floor is lit predominantly by LED lighting; we believe something of a first in Australia. Other levels have Australian designers, international designers etc with subtly different lighting approaches to each.
